Busting hair-care myths
1. Plucking out grey hairs will cause more to grow
This is a myth. If it were true plucking out your greys would be a great way to get a fuller head of hair! If anything, the opposite applies. Consistently plucking out a hair, regardless of its colour, can permanently distort and damage the hair follicle. This could stop the hair growing back all together.
2. A fringe makes you look younger
A short, blunt fringe is a bold style choice, which can be harsh and ageing on the wrong face shape. Before committing to the chop, it's a good idea to consider what sort of fringe would best suit you. If you are aiming for an anti-aging effect, a softer and longer fringe is normally better. This sort of fringe will soften the forehead and draw attention yo your eyes, creating a more flattering, younger look.
Your face shape can help you choose the right fringe length for you, however personal preference should also play a role. If you don't like wispy bits of hair getting into your eyes, you might prefer a fringe cut to the eyebrows or just above!
3. Hairspray makes hair look dull and heavy
No one wants their hair to look like a helmet. Instead of going to town with the hairspray, you should instead cover your head evenly in a light dusting. Hold the noxxe of the canster about 15cm away from your hair and make sure you don't just focus the spray on one area. Using a lighter hold spray will also help the hair to move and look natural, while still holding it in place. If you want to make sure it holds, spray a second light layer just before you leave the house.
