Trichology: Scalp Conditions and Female Pattern Hair Loss
Happy new year to you, I hope it’s been a good start for you all .
New year and new service to offer. I'm excited to add a new service to my list. I spent last year doing some technical growth and I am please to be able to offer to this to you, friends and your family if your have hair concerns
I have completed a hair practitioner course in trichology which basically means I am now able to analysis and advise you on some common hair and scalp conditions including some types of hair loss using a state of the art microscope. Using my years of experience in hairdressing I am more frequently seeing and being asked about female pattern hair loss. One in three women experience this along with thinning of the hair and tight itchy scalps.
I will be able to help with management of these conditions whilst you are under the careful watch of your own GP who can check things like thyroid, b12 levels, iron and cholesterol to rule out other causes who can then advise you on meds if needed. I hope to support that by giving you the correct advice on how to manage your hair in the interim and put your mind at rest and stop you wasting your money on the huge amount of supplements and hair products on the market for this, most of which are not fda approved and can even make the condition worse. . I can offer comprehensive advice and point you in the right direction on the right specialist if need be.
Do you find yourself asking these questions?
These are some of the questions I get asked regularly, do you hear them yourself?
"My hair is thinning, and it's just not as full as it used to be."
"I've noticed more hair shedding recently, especially when I wash or brush it."
"My scalp is really dry and itchy, and I can't figure out what’s causing it."
"My hair feels brittle and damaged, no matter what products I use."
"I'm starting to see the effects of menopause—my skin and hair feel completely different."
"Ever since I hit my 40s, my hair just doesn't seem to grow the same."
"I'm dealing with hormonal changes, and it’s really affecting my hair."
"I feel so fatigued all the time, and it’s really taking a toll on my hair and skin."

Having experienced hair loss myself throughout my career, particularly during perimenopause, I developed a deep interest in helping others through this challenging time. Interestingly, around 51% of women in perimenopause experience hair thinning, and 39% suffer from noticeable hair loss. While each case varies, timely interventions can significantly improve hair and scalp health, and I focus on providing practical support for clients during this period. I also assist with other hair and scalp concerns.
Over the years, I've noticed that many of my clients benefit from a more integrated, holistic approach to treatment I believe that by collaborating with professionals in dermatology, trichology and naturopathy I can offer a comprehensive solution that addresses not only the cosmetic aspects of hair loss but also the underlying causes, such as, nutritional imbalances, scalp conditions, hormonal changes.
Feel free to reach out and contact me if this is of interest to you or someone you know and I will be happy to help.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon,
Love as always,
Andrea.
