Diet and hair health

Happy New year to you all. I hope you have had a great new start to 2023.

I’ve spent three weeks of the holidays travelling around Europe and checking out the new trends that will be coming to Australia this year. My mind is whirling with ideas and creativity - if you are ready for a change or a tweak I will be happy to share some ideas with you!

The health of our hair is not only influenced by what we apply to externally, but also by what we put in our mouths. After all of the holiday excesses, it is important to ensure our diet is still supporting good hair health.

Our hair thrives on a diet rich in whole-food fats, plant proteins, calcium, iron, B Vitamins, zinc, magnesium, silica, omega 3 fatty acids, potassium and antioxidants. Having a diet rich in these will help your hair be as shiny and healthy as possible.

At the same time, be sure to minimise the use of hairdryers and straighteners - these appliances will only counteract the benefits of eating nutrient-rich plant foods and applying nurturing treatments.  If you are concerned with any of the ingredients in your existing hair care products let me know as I have lots of alternatives.

Joico K-PAK clarifying shampoo

If you need a little extra help detoxing after the holidays, the Joico K-PAK clarifying shampoo is my favourite product. It helps unblock follicles and undo all the damage from dry shampoo, swimming in chlorine and salt, and sand. It will help clear the way for shiny, bouncy, healthy hair by gently and effectively removing buildup and impurities.
