Holiday survival tips

Summer has finally arrived and we've had some much needed consistent days of sunshine! Now is the perfect time to change up your hair care routine to make sure it stays in optimum health. Be sure to add in a UV protector, and if you're going to be swimming in the ocean, switch to a clarifying shampoo.

Party ready

This time of the year the calendar is full of one party and social event after the next. If you want some help stying your hair, I can help you get ready! I offer online sessions to talk you through how to style your hair for the party season and take all the stress away.

Stocking fillers

If you're small little gift that every girl will love this Christmas, look no further than the Joico travel kit! It comes in a clear zip lock bag perfect for airline travel and includes a mini shampoo, conditioner, treatment and leave in protector. You can also re-use the bottles when you finish the product.

Did someone say sleep?

Sleep is so important, especially now that we're in the busiest time of the year and temperatures are getting hotter. Here are my top tips for protecting your hair while sleeping:

1. Don't sleep with wet hair
This can cause damage because wet hair is more fragile and prone to breakage. As your hair dries and the water seeps into your pillow, it can take some of your hair's natural oil with it, leaving your hair dry and lifeless the next morning.

2. Wear hair in a loose braid
When you toss and turn during the night, your hair is pulled and can break. If your hair is long enough, keeping it in a braid will protect your hair and keep it voluminous and strong.

3. Use a silk pillowcase
Silk can help your hair maintain moisture from products and natural oils, and also helps prevent hair breakage. Silk pillowcases will also help your skin absorb serums and moisturiser better - win win!

4. Nourish and treat overnight
Save time and effort at night by using a leave-in nourishing treatment product before bed, with no need to rinse your hair in the morning! My favourite night time product is the Joico Defy Damage Sleepover treatment.
