My hair journey

I get asked a lot how I style and look after my hair, so I thought I would share it here with you. I wasn't blessed in the hair department, but it has allowed me to help my clients make the best of what they've got and not try and change it to something that doesn't suit them!

Hair care regime
I shampoo every 2-3 days. First I use Kemon Actyva Belleserre shampoo to remove any oil and impurities from the scalp, then I follow with either Joyco Youth Lock Shampoo or Defy Damage shampoo. I follow with Joyco Joiful voluminising conditioner.

I also religiously use a hydrating mask once a week to help reconstruct any bonds in my hair that could have been broken from colouring or heat.

Each night before bed I brush my hair to stimulate the scalp and remove any loose hair. I always sleep with a silk pillowcase which is kinder to your hair and skin overnight.

Styling
If I am going to be blow drying my naturally curly hair straight, I use a heat protection treatment as well as Youth Lock Blow Out Collagen Creme to give it hold and volume. I finish with a spritz of hairspray to seal in the blow-dry and lock any humidity out.

When I wear my hair curly, I spritz through Joico K Pak Colour Therapy leave in spray, and then I apply Joico Curl Confidence Creme to wet hair, trying not to disturb the curls too much. The next day I wet my curls with a water spray to reactivate the curl creme and then them dry naturally again. I finish by spraying a bit of dry shampoo on my roots to give some lift and texture.

It might sound like a lot of products, but they all do a different job and work on different aspects of my hair. I like my hair to look health and shiny most of the time, but if I'm going for more of a matte look I'll change up my products to suit. In my opinion you can never have too many hair care products!

Since moving to Australia, I wear a lot of hats to protect my hair, scalp, face and ears. I also love wearing my hair up but am mindful not to pull it too tight.

Let me know what your hair care regime is and if there is anything you're unsure about. I'm always happy to advise you on what you could add or take away to help you achieve your best hair!
