Vitamin D, healthy hair and healthy skin
Well, that's over half the year done and dusted and spring has arrived! What have you been up to? Have you stuck with your New Years resolutions, did you remain accountable to your goals?
I have been doing some personal development, health and nutrition courses this year, and I have just completed a melanoma/skin cancer course. This will help me identify if there is anything suspicious on your head or neck when you visit the salon. I'm not able to diagnose, but I can bring certain moles to your attention so you can get them checked by a health professional.
It's important that we all raise awareness and stay on top of our skin checks, as early detection is key. Especially when we live in such a beautiful area with lifestyles that see us regularly exposed to the sun.
Vitamin D is crucial for our mental health, hair growth and keratin production, but you should try and always wear sun protection like a hat and sunscreen when out in the sun.
Can I get your help with something?
You all know how passionate I am about women's health. I'm excited to let you know that I've joined a fantastic initiative by The George Institute for Global Health, who are teaming up with hairdressers to help research into chronic diseases in women over 45. If you have 10 spare minutes, I'd really appreciate you completing this survey to aid the research.
